After wheelchair fencing lost it's funding in 2013, the Paul Davis Fencing Academy joined me on my 'Road to Rio 2016', offering to support me wherever they could through fundraising events - they were fantastic and helped provide much needed funds to supplement my training costs and I am so very happy to say that they have offered to continue their support through to Tokyo 2020 - it is great to be part of their #fencingfamily!

ROAD TO THE RIO 2016 PARALYMPIC GAMES

I started competing internationally in 2012 and in 2013 my sport lost all of it's funding and so if I was able to continue to train and compete, I needed to find sponsors to help me stay on my Road to Rio. I also started a crowd-funding campaign.

   In 2015, I was recognised as 'Podium Potential' and UK Sport opened up some funding to me as an individual athlete for the remaining time through to Rio 2016.

This was fantastic news and allowed me to focus fully on my training and the imminent Paralympic Games however, even this funding was not sufficient to cover all of my training/competition costs and so I still very much needed the additional support that my sponsors and supporters were able to provide.

   I would like to thank ALL of the people who have helped me, my sponsors and for EVERY donation and offer of support made - It really was invaluable, thank you for believing in me - I could not have done it without you!
